New Jewelry Tests

Moving on from jewelry on white. Good to work with some big, bright, colored stones, and a matte finish. Plus I hauled out the ol' butterflies. Still looking for my sweet spot between interior gleam, surface reflection, not to mention which facets to call out. Could spend all day on such things.

Recent Jewelry Work

Selections from new work, for a new client, at Kathleen Dughi Jeweler in Mill Valley. They do really nice stuff over there, and they're all super nice. Many carats. I think the larger diamonds in this ring are .5 to .75 carats, so...

I learned from Cairo at Kathleen Dughi that many stones these days are heat treated to intensify the color. Really? The stones weren't good enough before, in all their glitter and shine? We have to make them just a little better? She agreed, and Kathleen Dughi generally stays away from treated stones.

Bottles, I Do Like 'em

High-end vinegars get high-end photography. The smaller bottle retails for about a hundred bucks. I cooked a little with it, but I think I didn't use enough. I have some cooking-with-vinegar education in front of me, I guess.

I have a lot of bottle photography education behind me though, so that's nice.
